Home Break

HALFPIPE REIMAGINED

"By far the most ambitious set-up we've ever had."

That was the verdict of team rider Taylor Gold, whose Home Break concept returned to Steamboat, CO for a third year last spring. The event transforms his local stomping ground into a customized park, with transitions in and out of the Mavericks superpipe, multiple channel gaps, rail features and anything else his imagination can come up with.
As always, Taylor's teammates and friends were invited to hit the setup, while this year's gathering included an open session for the public to cruise through with the pros. With Jeff Urbahn behind the camera, the session soon turned into a masterclass in creative line building – Nidecker riders Taylor, Sebby K, Maisie Hill, Mela Stalker, and Cooper Branham trading ideas as they pieced together the unique features.
The standout moment in this year’s edit has to be the sketchy gap session over a (running!) pipe cutter. “That was definitely a first for me, even as a pipe veteran,” says Taylor. It’s also the exact loose vibe that makes Home Break special.

Thanks to Steamboat, the whole park crew and Ikon Pass for making it happen.
